We do not grade our walks but a description of the walk is provided at the pre walk meeting. The minimal level of fitness required is to be able to walk up "The Goat Track" at Castle Hill with ease. An average bushwalk could equate to traversing Castle Hill three (3) times before lunch, add a backpack with food, water and essentials, some hand over hand scrambling and boulder hopping on unformed tracks or no track at all for added interest. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are fit enough for the walk planned, if in doubt ask the Trip Leader or ask at the meeting prior to the walk.
Walks are paced to the slowest walker, and it is vital that you can see the person in front of you and the person behind you. Always be aware of where you are and approximately in which direction you are walking. Any difficulties need to be brought to the attention of the Trip Leader.
